About this package

The Annapurna Circuit is a renowned long-distance trek celebrated for its diverse landscapes and cultures. Spanning eighteen days, the journey begins in Kathmandu before a short scenic mountain flight to Pokhara, then drives north into the Marsyangdi valley, climbing through pine forests and traditional villages into the alpine desert of the Manang valley, before crossing the Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters and descending into the Tibetan-influenced Mustang region. The circuit runs mostly within the Annapurna Conservation Area, Nepal's largest protected area, and is a classic trek known for its varied scenery, where each day introduces new valleys, villages, and breathtaking peaks.

Culturally, the trek represents a rich tapestry: lower villages such as Chame are influenced by Gurung tradition, while the trail through Upper Pisang, Ghyaru, and Ngawal reveals Tibetan-style architecture and Buddhist chortens as the route climbs toward Manangi communities near Manang. After crossing Thorong La, trekkers descend into Mustang and Muktinath, a significant pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, before the route drops through the dramatic Kali Gandaki Gorge to the natural hot springs of Tatopani, adding both a spiritual and a restorative dimension to the high-altitude adventure.

This is a tea house trek: you will sleep in simple, locally run lodges each night rather than camping, with hot meals and a stove to warm up by after a day on the trail. No technical climbing skills are required, but altitude is the real test, which is why the itinerary builds in a dedicated acclimatization day in Manang before the push toward Thorong La. Once back in Pokhara, two leisure days beside Phewa Lake give time to rest and unwind, before a short scenic flight returns the group to Kathmandu, where further leisure days round out the trip.

The itinerary runs from Kathmandu back to Kathmandu via Pokhara, with a scheduled acclimatization day in Manang, two leisure days in Pokhara after the trek, leisure days in Kathmandu at the end of the trip, and a tea house/lodge stay each night on the trail. Departing early-to-mid October, right in the heart of the autumn trekking season, the trip is timed for clear skies, stable weather, and some of the best mountain visibility of the year.
